Could this be the end of SAD?

A research team incorporated members from Princeton University, the University of Southern California and the University of Michigan are developing the next evolution in lighting.

The light source that could replace light bulb is an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) which emits a brilliant white light when attached to an electricity supply.

It is said that the material can be developed into wafer thin sheets that could be incorporated into walls, ceilings or even furniture.

OLEDs are far more energy efficient (almost 100% efficient), do not create heat and produce a light that is more like natural daylight than traditional bulbs.
