Off line Storage

Trying to keep within the constraints of the alloted server space Blog.co.uk has been hard considering the amount of pictures I use. So I have been looking for sites that offer off site storage for storing pictutes, music and video. I list below some of the services I use.

photobucket.com

Photobucket has a 50MB limit at no cost (you can pay to upgrade to 1GB at $25 a year) valid file types: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, swf

Box.net

Box is a storage medium for any file format like word processing, spreadsheets, powerpoint and zip files which can be shared for downloading 1GB storage for free of 5GB at $4.99 a month.

Ripway.com

Ripway gives you 30MB of space to store photos, MP3's, office documents, use PHP scripts, zip files, videos
For extra storage 50MB at $5.00 a month to 400MB at $40 a month

Amazon.com

Amazon have now come on the scene with a new file storage system called S3

Amazon S3 provides a simple web services interface that can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web. It gives any developer access to the same highly scalable, reliable, fast, inexpensive data storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own global network of web sites. The service aims to maximize benefits of scale and to pass those benefits on to developers.

Yet to try this service but aim to soon.
