Anyway research into sleep patterns have come up with a name for this sleep pattern, its called polyphasic sleep.
Polyphasic sleep is a sleep pattern specification intended to compress sleep time to 2-5 hours daily. This is achieved by spreading out sleep into short (around 20-45 minute) naps throughout the day. This allows for more waking hours with relatively high alertness…
I came across this concept on Steve Pavlina's blog so I looked into it more. I found another blog Polyphasic Blogspot which points to Uberman's sleep schedule which revolves around forcing yourself to rely on six twenty to thirty minute naps spread throughout the day for your daily dose of sleep. It suggests that you start roughly at 2 AM, 6 AM, 10 AM, 2 PM, 6 PM, and 10 PM every day.
What I ask is, how could you fit this into the British working day?
Would this sort of sleep pattern suit the lifestyle of a blogger?
How many hours do you sleep?

uh..okay. sorry but sounds like, well.. anyway..i do think aging and changes in sleep patterns are true, especially for women due to hormonal changes. as for actually needing less sleep...think it has more to w/ bodily changes than a decrease in need. i know in my family sleep patterns and disturbances are hereditary. like night terrors. like insomnia. and no, i do not sleep well nor do i generally get enough sleep to feel rested every day. *sigh* but its been a life long issue and something i witnessed in my parents and brother. something i see in my daughter. so i'm not so sure there is much to be done about it. heh..maybe one of these days when i can't sleep (ha ha) i'll Google the lastest research on sleep. til then the occasional nap can help..a little.
